Keywindow beta terms
These terms are between you and Keywindow. Contact us at the contact address in your beta invitation.
The beta service
Keywindow schedules, updates and removes keypad codes through SmartThings. It depends on SmartThings, your hub, your lock, its driver, internet connectivity and the lock battery. Those systems can delay, reject or misreport a command.
During the beta you must maintain a tested backup entry method, such as a physical key or lockbox. Do not rely on Keywindow as the only way into a property.
Your responsibilities
- Use Keywindow only with locks and SmartThings accounts you are authorised to manage.
- Check important codes before a guest or visitor depends on them.
- Keep backup access available and respond promptly to warnings.
- Use lawful names, contact details and access records, and tell guests how their data is used where required.
- Do not attempt to bypass security, overload the service or use it for unlawful access.
Warnings and external changes
Keywindow may report that SmartThings differs from a schedule. It will warn rather than automatically overwrite a change made outside Keywindow. A warning is not proof that the lock itself has accepted or rejected a code.
Availability and changes
The beta is experimental and may contain faults. We may change, suspend or withdraw beta features. We will make reasonable efforts to avoid disrupting an active access window and to communicate material changes.
Charges
The current beta is free. No payment method is stored and beta users will not be charged automatically. Before introducing a paid plan we will disclose the price and give advance notice. Continuing on a paid plan will require you to choose the plan and complete checkout explicitly.
Ending use
You can disconnect SmartThings or delete your account in Settings. Keywindow blocks disconnection while any current or future schedule remains. You may still delete the account while a PIN is live, but Keywindow will stop monitoring that PIN and will never remove it. The PIN may remain usable on the physical lock until you remove it in SmartThings or at the lock.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to that, the beta is not suitable as the sole access-control mechanism, and we are not responsible for losses caused by SmartThings, lock hardware, drivers, connectivity, batteries, inaccurate information you provide, or failure to maintain backup access.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, mandatory rights and local court protections still apply.
